These are important updates pushed by Microsoft to ensure that the system remains secure and capable of handling the work it is intended to do.

Missing these updates will potentially create security vulnerability and can create compatibility issues, for example a software won’t work effectively or increase crashes, etc

  • Ignoring updates for extended period of time, this causes greater disruption.
  • Restarting or turning off computer during an update, this corrupts the system and may result in the loss of all data.
  • Misunderstanding the difference between properly restarting a computer: (Windows) à Power à Shutdown or restart vs turning on and off the power (this is not a restart and is ineffective).
  • Closing the laptop lid takes the laptop to Sleep Mode it is NOT shutdown or restart 

Software providers (e.g. Adobe, Teams, Chorme, etc)

Missing these updates often affect hardware performance, camera operations, microphone or speakers and can affect monitors.
