We have moved away from the traditional printed calendar, to an online version. The calendar is now live and can be viewed at http://www.millhillcalendar.org.uk/week.aspx. The fundamentals of the online calendar are described below along with the two most useful 'how to' guides, for you to become comfortable with the new system.
The following three concepts are crucial to a full understanding of the SOCS calendar:
1. The SOCS calendar has two views
• The public view: which only includes events that you have published.
• The private view: which can only be accessed by logging into SOCS, or by visiting the staff calendar (once activated)
2. SOCS calendar events have three “states”
Events can be:
• Published: Published events must first be approved. Published events appear on both the private and public facing calendars, and appear in black.
• Approved: Approved events only appear on the private calendar view, and appear in blue.
• Unapproved: Unapproved events only appear on the private calendar view, and appear in orange.
3. There are five types of users
The types are: Readers, Editors, Approvers, Publishers and the Main User. Each level has different privileges, as demonstrated below.
