How to release Barracuda-quarantined emails for shared mailboxes

Modified on Tue, 11 Feb at 2:37 PM

User emails can be released simply by visiting https://uk.ess.barracudanetworks.com/ and selecting to sign-in using Microsoft.

Shared mailboxes however (for example: admissions@millhill.org.uk or office@grimsdell.org.uk ) have to be signed-in using an alternate method - shared mailboxes do not have a password!

Instructions

Open the Edge browser (not Chrome), and select the 3 dots, select New InPrivate window:

In the InPrivate window (which normally has a dark theme), paste the following URL into the address bar https://uk.ess.barracudanetworks.com/ and enter the shared mailbox address, and click Continue:

You will then be asked for a password - as shared mailboxes have no password, click on Email me a temporary passcode:

The shared mailbox will then be sent a temporary passcode which is valid for 15 minutes - ensure you check the Other (non-focussed) Inbox. Enter the temporary passcode and click Sign in:

Emails can now be released as normal - see https://mhsf.freshdesk.com/a/solutions/articles/103000034611?portalId=103000015705
